The Ultra HDL assay evaluated is a homogeneous method and does not require off-line pretreatment of specimens. The liquid reagent is provided in a two-part format. The first reagent subjects non-HDL unesterified cholesterol to a chemically accelerated cholesterol oxidase reaction resulting in non-reactive LDL, VLDL and Chylomicrons. The peroxide generated is consumed by peroxidase in the presence of N,N-bis(4-sulphobutyl)-m-toluidine-disodium, yielding a colorless product. The second reagent con |
