Summary: |
Until now, the advantages of amplification in an electronic stethoscope have been negated by the sensitivity of electronic stethoscopes to distracting sounds from ambient room noise and friction on the surface of the patient’s body.
But thanks to a proprietary technological advancement known as Ambient Noise Reduction (ANR), the 3M Littmann Electronic Stethoscope Model 3000 allows you to tune out the room when you turn up the volume.
This new technology reduces distracting room noise by an average of 75 percentage (–12dB) without eliminating critical body sounds. Combine that with amplification up to 18 times greater than the best acoustic (non-electronic) stethoscope and you have an instrument that is uniquely equipped to help you pick up difficult-to-hear heart, lung and other body sounds.
